best bang for the buck is the 20r head swap, after that i would do a side draft, then cam, then ignition and all the other bs...

and i also have a 20r head for sale, needs work, but if you are getting an engine rebuilt you might as well get the head work done on a good head then...

is that a good setup for street? my purpose is to build a street/drift truck with quick response and better than stock- power.

    Agreed.

Personally, my truck grips the road way too hard to get any kind of "slide." But that has alot to do with some way expensive tires and suspension tweaking.

But a quick question Jo, do you know if your engine (presumably a 84 22R) has a double or single timing chain? It would determine if a 20R head swap is feasable,

My little hybrid motor has great power, and I was running a holley. But you can make a regular 22R run good too, just with a tad more work. :waytogo:

best bang for your buck....... get rid of the stock carb and get a holley or weber to open the front door. get a header, and decent exhaust system to open the back door. a good mid-top end cam to keep the door open longer to flow that air through........ and if you got a bit more cash, a lightened flywheel will amplify those gains and alleviate some of the rotating mass slowing down the throttle response. just my 0.02 :waytogo:
