i was wondering if the ct-20 would be worth it to me to get. i found one at pick-n-pull. the head is gone but the turbo and exhaust manifold are still there
well i also found a super nice set of older 300zx bucket seats. theyre almost flawless. i might get them instead. i'll figure it out tomorrow. the seats i could use now but the turbo i wont be able to use till the motor for my hilux is finished
I was told the CT-20's aren't that great. Low flow and prone to failure, its one of those older turbo's. I say if the turbo seems to be good, get it. And how much do they want for the turbo anyway? If you have the cash, just grab it and go turbo ersumchit. http://www.well.com/~mosk/biggerturbo.htm http://www.bchawkins.com/turbo.html http://www.bchawkins.com/cracked_turbo/cracked_turbo.html So you may just grab the manifold itself and find a CT-26
I want the manifold (if it aint cracked). Name your price... +1 The turbo aint worth looking at. CT26 on the other hand
thanks for the info. the only reason i was thinking about the turbo was because lc engineering said they rebuild them. i think i may just grab the exhaust manifold. i'll have it sandblasted to see if its cracked or not. then i'll decide whether i want it or not. definately gonna grab some seats though. also saw some audi seats that were pretty nice. there were a set of mr2 buckets but i didnt like the pattern. damn near perfect though. i'll take pictures when i go back tomorrow just in case someone wants me to grab something oh, and i didnt see the wheels
as stated the ct20 turbo isnt worth it, but that manifold is, that if its not cracked. check between the number 2 and 3 ports for cracks ( i think thats where they crack the most) also if you do get it, grab the ecu. my only question is arent you carbed? here is a good site for info on turboing these trucks..http://www.22rte-trucks.com/simplemachinesforum/
ok, turbos are tricky with carbs becuase it takes alot more tuning to get it to run right. ud be better off putting it on the 84, well that is unless you put a stand alone fuel management system on the 73..
manifold is cracked between 2 and 3 on the bottom. if you know a welder and want it, you can have it for what i paid for it plus shipping. if not, i'm gonna take it back tomorrow
if you guys are in now hurry, i will be selling my stock turbo manifold in afew weeks with the ct20 on it. when i go to sell it i will post it up...
its in good shape, im thinking its a new manifold, but im uncertain on the turbo. i will take pics and post them up, the motor it can off of had 220k+ on it (head gasket went out) Im replacing it with a steed speed manifold, garrett t3/t4 .60-.48 turbo. pretty much its the kit from lc engineering minus the manifold and the actual lines to bolt to the block, oh and an extra O2 sensor bong in the downpipe. I plan on going to a stand alone ecu, front mount intercooler and a bigger throttle body, i also have been looking at a different AFM (thinking of trying lc's new kit). im only looking for like 150-170 hp as this is my daily driver.
