Crink pulley bolt Hi, say I have a 1983 Toyota pick up 22R engine and I have to replace the timing chain but I can't seem to get the crank pulley bolt loose. Is it a right or left hand thread? I have used a break over bar and a half inch impact with a chin wrench and it will not budge. Anyone have any suggestion?
This is back yard, but place your 1/2" or higher breaker bar on the driver side chassis & crank the engine, If that doesnt work, either heat up the bolt, or chisel out the bolt.
I've done this on a Camry once... Worked AMAZING!!! Other idea, drop the oil pan, and wedge a piece of wood next to the crank shaft...
I put a ½" breaker bar plus cheater pipe up against the frame on the drivers side, bumped the starter and it came off with my fingers..
