Went to a local stereo shop competition yesterday. Got 2nd in my class with a score of 142.7 db! I have a Rockford P500-1 running two JL Audio 10W3v2-D4's. So I didn't think that score was too bad with two 10's.

The world record right now that I know of is 181.7 db. :eyecrazy: The highest hit at this comp was 151 db. No damage at this comp, but I have seen woofers blow, smoke. Fried voice coils freakin stink. And the smell stays in your car for weeks.

Thanks!...and so true, but I can still emergency vehicles before most people can even with my volume up. Just had the system installed back March. You should check it out, its on the last few pages of my build thread.

181 ok... ill take it as that. Over here those comps are non-existant, its just guys with a couple of 6x9s and maybe one 12' sub.

I have a simmilar setup to this in my '80 lux.

So far its two 12's behind the seats and two 6x9's in the doors. Nothing is hooked up just for show before the recliner seats arrive with the headdeck.
