so I was working on a 92-95 4runner the other day and I noticed that it had a hood liner. I am 99% positive it will fit my truck too but I didn't compare them side to side.. Has anyone ever retrofitted a stock hood liner? did any trucks come with them stock?
You can yet hood liner material at most good auto supplies,it's the silver reflective stuff with a fireproof backing, held in place with push through pins!
Try this product, We used this on a 4runner, worked awesome . . . http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-11905-Hoodliner-1-Sheet/dp/B00069QLVC
i actually planned on putting the dynamat hoodliner under it. I work at a stereo shop and I actually have it in stock. I just think the silver looks very unfinished, I just don't really want to spend $200 at the dealer if I can find something else that will look like its supposed to be there. Has anyone looked at the inside fender wells on any new Mercedes, Porsche or similar high end german car? They make the inner fender that is normally plastic out of some kind of hardcore stiff fabric that they use under the hood and the firewall too. I wouldn't mind playing with this stuff depending on the price. Any chance of a company that makes aftermarket replacement parts making one?
