Well guys I've recently posted my truck up on CL for sale/trade and I've gotten an offer for a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. It has been lowered 2 inches and the top has been chopped 6-7 inches, new interior, new engine, etc.. I'm gonna go check it out in person in a little while and I'll take some pictures and post them. He's sent me some and it looks very good from what I can tell. What do ya'll think?

Ok, just got back from looking at it. I'm looking at trading my '94 for it. It been chopped right, you can't even tell it. The doors close very good. the engine only has like 3000 miles on it fresh rebuild with all scat internals. the interior is brand new, the headliner has the VW logo in it. The turn signals have been shaved and new ones molded into the bottom inside front(if that makes any sense) of the fenders. The rear tails have been converted to round vette lights. Doors have been shaved. The only bad thing about it is a tree limb fell on the roof and it busted the bondo in a few places.

well, my truck still needs a **** load of body work, still needs some electrical, spindles, a new tps sensor, passenger front bag has a hole in it from rubbing on a bolt, a driver door to match the passenger door, exhaust, and my engine has 340,000 miles on it. The bug only needs the body work done on the roof, a shaved door kit, and paint.

I like what he did with the taillights and the chop looks pretty good too. Personally I wouldn't do it, I think your truck is more of a looker than that bug ever will be but that's just my opinion. Besides, what would you rather work on, a Toy or that tight engine compartment of that bug. LOL.

I haven't talked to the guy anymore, it looks alot like the one on ebay, just in primer. I really like the bug and I want to trade for it but the truck is still in my moms name and she's not digging the trade which is pretty stupid because it's my damn truck and I've done all of the work on it. if I get the bug it will be painted flat black and the fenders and running boards will be gloss red. If I can talk my mom into it then the bug will probably be mine. I can always build another truck and thats the reason I'm trying to sell it because I want to build another one. I'm gonna be out of town all next week, i'm going to florida but I will keep ya'll posted when i get back because I don't think we have internet at the condo
