I believe: LCE should send me a free engine.

Agreed ^ I would do the same. ALWAYS take care of the customer. Its the whole point of owning/starting a business is to create a better product for the consumer and make sure they stay happy.

yea........ i see the guys point. ive always had good luck with LCE and i still believe their products are one of the best out there for the money but this sure does put a smudge on their reputation. i think id be in the same boat if i was to purchase a motor and had the same issue though. im surprised what this guy claimed they told him...... i would have though this guy to take them to a claims court or something if he had substantial proof of what he's saying.

Some people have a way with words and try to use it to their advantage. For all I know, this guy could be lying about everything.

x2 true the guy may be lying and I would never pay that much for a motor that only puts out 200+hp! but, I had an issue with a lc engineering before when I purchased a valve cover through them. I bought a lc powdercoated valve cover and when I installed it the first day I ran my truck it started leaking oil through the lc stamp. Right away I called lc and asked if I could send it back and exchange it and the answer they gave me was to put rtv on it! no joke this is a true story! so since then I said I would never throw down serious money there way!

paradise racing is where it's at for the tacomas! 2rz power baby!

true story...but i do think some of their motors are lemons..every company has bad products or products that go bad...cannot help with that but i say they should send him a new motor...my friend bought the stage 2 street performacne package and it took 1month and he didnt get the filters and they told him that he can order another spare cuz they blamed him for losing it.

I have the same engine, been running it for 4 years now!
LC told me that the these engines in a stock state run fat( rich),& too run a fuel/ratio gauge! And if needed to adjust the air flow meter as prescribed by them, which I did!
The engine does not come with the over size throttle body ,but is recommended!
I run all that was recommended by them,& can't be more satisfied with the performance & the support from LC!
I am sorry you have had this problem with this company, but I believe they have a great number of there products in service world wide,& the failure rate too be low /too done!
I would have thought they would have stood behind their product ,as I have had nothing but support from everyone from LC!

I have been very happy with the majority of the parts I have gotten from LC. I have also been extremely pissed at them, more then once.

when I bought my underdrive pulley kit, they sent me extra long bolts. I called them, the dipshiat on the phone told me to grind them down and refused to send new bolts.. not like I really had a choice since the truck was already apart, but I had just spent $200 on 2 pulleys they make in house, I shouldn't have to be a dick on the phone so they can send the correct parts (I didn't). He just made excuses about how another company makes the bolts for them, and they messed up. He also said they were aware of the issue.

I refuse to talk to anyone at LC but John after that incident.

yea....... i can see where you NEED to take responsibility for the products you put out, even if its outsourced.... you should have some sort of quality control over that as well.

ive yet to have a bad incident with them wich i hope i never do since i seem to constantly be on their page these days.... hopefully they get better control over these issues as i do believe they are the best support our trucks have out there as far as our engine support is concerned.

I had a bad experiance with LC, I ordered a cam gear, when I received it two of the teeth on the gear were bent and had concrete dust on the teeth that were bent. I called them and they suggested that I probly dropped it and they couldn't replace it. After many calls trying to get it replaced one guy said well why dont you just hammer it straight. What a joke! I finally received my new one with a return ship tag after I told the guy on the phone that I would drive out to Arizona and kick his ass. Since then I nor any of my freinds have ordered anything from them, I go straight to the manufacturer or their competion.

I used to think that until one day I sat down and actually checked out everything they put into their motors.. LC builds race motors. Most people don't need forged pistons, studded blocks, dual timing chains, oversized valves, hardened valve train components and all the other wonderful expensive things and oem parts they put into their motors... The 22r is known for being a extremely tough motor. You can't expect it to be cheap to make it tougher.

I think whoever built the lemon motor was just in a hurry to go to lunch...

If you price all parts used in one of their engines it is well over a complete engine price! Not to mention they are blue printed, balanced & dyno'ed !
You get what you pay for! And I for one have not had any bad experience with LC!
Sorry to hear that some have!
