so i am in process of painting my 2wd and ive already completed the hood. which went good. the clear coat and paint went on well but the primer went on textured and like misted out. so i just sanded it and moved on but i primered my wiper cowl and decided to thin the mixture up a little bit and it didnt help at all it came out textured and also dripped out of the gun while spraying, i was doing a 4:1:10% on the hood so on the cowl i did a 4:1.5:20% using a gravity feed gun and i tried every air pressure.... so any tips or something to help me out. thank you

Yes spray thinned out! And clean the gun & tip, sounds like the product was setting up & clogged the tip!
I like using a gun for primer only & one for paint!

Dont add any more hardener. If its 4 parts primer to 1 part hardener, dont change that ratio by adding more hardener. You can add reducer but I suggest not more than 10%. It sounds like your spraying it dry. Dont be afraid to wet that sucker. You can also try a slower reducer to help it flow. If you want to see how my primer looks, check out my build, Project 87 xcab.

 Spray the primer on wet. Open up the fluid knob and pull the trigger all the way and dont let it run.
Maybe this will help. Not how I would do it but its preety basic. At about 2:50 is a good example of how to wetlay it down.

What primer and what tip are you using in your gun? What kind of gun do you have? Also, I hope your not painting part by part or else your asking for an uneven paint job!

Like TRuck Action said,Bro clean your gun out really good.. what i do is i take my gun apart clean it out with laquer thinner, make sure your tip doesn't have some old material dried up in it..also clean your nozzle, make sure your horns aren't clogged..you should set your psi betweem 35-45.. :)
