so some of you here know i hold it down here in SoCal but not for much longer. looks like my plans lie elsewhere and they dont seem to be cali. gotten tired of the socal life...... too expensive to live here and or make it for that matter so im relocating out to arizona...... yuma more than likely from what it seems.

so anyhow..... my current plans are to tie up some loose ends here in cali then head out once i am prepped enough for the move. as of right now i need to look into getting the lux ready for the move and in a "completed stage" since it still needs paint and other minor work. i might also be looking to go back to a single carb setup since my side drafts have rendered me around 14 mpg  (cant stay off the gas)

seeing as how smog may no longer be an issue ( muahahahaha!!! ) a future motor build looks to be possible......... by build i mean swap...... by swap i mean more power..... and by more power i mean more cylinders

anyhow, we'll see how next few months go..... otherwise... arizona here i come.......

yea. work not so much...... im transfering within the company but more so life and living in general. ive been in San Diego all my life and although its a nice place to be at.... unless you make a decent living income of about 3-5000 a month, all you do is just "get by" or survive as best as you can.

as it sits..... any place ive looked into out here costs anywhere from the 1000 area up to anywhere around 2000 for a 1-2 bedroom appartment....... out in yuma and other places out there im looking at around 400-1000 for the same...

I hear you on the cost of living being high...it is always amazing when moving from one place to the next location...how far the dollars can go.

If they have more curves than Kansas, then MAYBE one day I shall move down there. So much more Toy's down there than this place...

As long my truck doesn't get stolen.

Im considering moving out of cali as well. CA has really gotten crappy, work is getting worse, less jobs, prices on everything is going sky high, etc... I have talked to many people in oregon, oklahoma, kentucky, arizona, etc. and they love it there! Everyone I talked to that lived in cali at one time hated it lol. dont blame them.

Good luck with the move bud. have a safe trip.

i've lived in az my entire life and enjoy it. just stay out of the phoenix and tucson areas and there won't be emission tests. although as the city grows, the test zones expand as well. the place my parents grew up (queen creek) didn't have emissions until a few years ago when everybody moved there.

    thanks guys.

yea...... from what i can tell from a few people that have moved out from here things are better everywhere else other than here is what i keep hearing. it wont be too long before cali falls appart in fail swoop. i dont see any "fix" in sight and well......... im bailing before im dragged along with it.

the whole emmissions test thing is a load off my mind..... ive been dealing and dodging bullets on this for some time and im tired of it. sucks that calis' smog deal is nothing but a successful scam that theyve been getting away with for so long......... cant wait to rid myself of that headache.

not doggin you cause you're a toyota fanatic so you gotta be cool, but i'm so tired of people from cali movin to arizona. lol. can't they make it a little farther east or a little farther north? and if you want curves in the roads come up here on the mountain where i live. or between the desert cities and the mountains somewhere. that's where the curves are. as for yuma, i hope you have some off road toys. i.e. quads, dirtbikes, 3wheelers, etc. actually i just found an 86 350x with no motor and tranny for 350 bucks in yuma on craigslist. thinkin about gettin it and waiting til i find a motor and tranny from a 400ex or 450r. but good luck on the move. az is amazing, and i don't wanna call anywhere else home. been here all my life except a lil time spend in ohio and the military. you'll love it here, but yuma is still pretty darn close to cali. at least you won't be "too" far from havasu.

yea, i have a 4runner so the desert is still in and i can go out to ocotillo as well so its no issue. also i do plan on getting on a quad again........ maybe a banshee for the hills and i dunno what else.... yea. seems like all the cali people just bail ship to the nearest state but thats just as good as it gets. the reason behind yuma is that i have family here and dont wanna be too far away....... by family i also mean friends. not to mention yuma is still a "bail out of cali" plan....... it dont mean ill stay there..... all depends on how things pan out there to where i go from there.

ive been here 28 years........... im pretty much over it
