What do you guys prefer to see/have on your's or someone else's toyotas? 2wd Fenders or 4wd Fenders? Nevermind, I was texting somebody back and ran out of time to add a poll. Oh well. I prefer 4wd fenders. I like the flare and the stance is like a bulldogged stance.
4wd fenders follow the lines better than 2wd. match the bed n all. I kinda like the 2wd corner lights tho.
2wd and proper stretch/roll/pull to tuck FTW! 4wd's are ok..... but they are too played out i think. most dont look too good with that whole sunken wheel look...... looks like you got the wrong offset wheel on there..... if done correctly you dont need 4wd fenders to go low........ pick a good wheel size and tire combo and you can clear just fine perfect example of this theory and look...... On a personal sidenote, if my truck had a Euro (not flared?) bed, I wouldve kept my left 2wd fender and grab a new right fender and rock a 4wd bumper. oh well, I moved on
That's what I think too. I think it looks way better with the fender closer to the rim, instead of the wheel looking all sunk in, but really largely it's a matter of clearance for the setup and tires. I am going to do everything I can to keep 2wd fenders on my '89 with is300 rims and 1" spacers, but if it gives me too much trouble I might eventually put some 4wd fenders on there.
I like the look of the 84-88 lowered trucks with a 4x4 fenders but the offset of the wheel has to be right. I agree a sunken in wheel on a 4x4 fender does look right and if done correctly a 2wd fender will work fine Heres my truck with stock 2wd fenders, I rub a little turning at 60lbs, but should be much better with upper and lower tubuler arms some day
with stock 14x6 wheels with a +38 backspacing, my wheels are already sunken in with 2WD fenders. throw on 4wd fenders, and you'll get it even more sunken. 4WD fenders allow me to have a wider range of what wider wheels I want to get in the future. that's the thing about them, they have more flare, which means it will make it look sunken.
i believe FOKAI had that exact setup but he had 4wd fenders....... not sure if by choice since he had the 4Runner. if done right you should clear with a well flared 2wd fender
Are you talking about the 84-88 trucks? Cause there is no "jap" bed on the 89-95 trucks, they're all the same here in the states.
post i replied to seemed to be talking about the 89-95 models. So i went off that. And i was just referring to the jap bed in general, I kno they dint offer them here. fine with me tho, i dont like them on our body style
