i sold my 92 toyota sr5 4wd to a friend.i bought it from a guy at work.it sat for 8 months with no gas.my friend put it in his name.replaced the battery.the truck wouldn't start.so i found a junkyard to take it.it has electrical and the stater clicks.it just won't turn over.i think it might be the stater but it needs gas.it won't turn over.i think it needs gas and a stater.this sucks i selling it to a junkyard for 500.00.this sucks.i'm not good mechanically but i don't think a truck won't start without gas.
dont scrape it for that. take the starter out, and clean the terminals. its clicking but wont turn. ive had corrosion issues on toyotas before. and put some damn gas in it if its empty. lol.
huh? you say the same thing like 3 times. I agree, clean the starter connections and put some gas in it.
yeah he's going to buy a car at auctuion now.it's his loss he thinks the motor is seized.i think he's a idiot!!!
seize is easy to diagnose......... grab a 19mm socket a breaker bar and turn the crank........ if it wont budge its stuck.... takes allot to seize a toyota motor....... they usually blow or toss a rod before that.
that's what i thought too.the rebuilt motor has about 30,000 miles on it.i don't think sitting is going to seize unless it had prior issues.
my 22RE drove me 10-15mins far away from home with the water pump belt blown out in the dead of summer. no seize happened like 10 times too
how do you toss the belt 10 times?! making them yourself from the rubber band ball in the shotgun seat?
Yeah. The Autozone belt literally just sucks ass. So I had a friend in GA send me one since the dealer didnt have it here. OEM belts ftw.
yea....... honestly... i have one of those on my truck and its fine... not the greatest but ok for the time being. the only issue i have with it is its a hard compound belt...... so if im running along the road and the fan clutch kicks in full, it'll slip the belt (squeal) at anything past 3100 rpm's..... since the fan at full lock will pull so much air, the motor rev's too damn fast for the belts grip to hold on to the pulley while fan is suckin in air at full lock. i would say you either a) had a misaligned pulley b) had a bent pulley, c) had the belt adjusted waaaaay too loose, d) had the belt on waaaay too tight, or e) had the wrong belt in there to begin with......
lol not ripped. belt popped off and "flipped" over. Probably was belt ersumchit. The last time it happened, the belt actually snapped for once, made a big bang and my truck left a ****
i had the same problem with the auto zone belts i went threw 2 of them in about 10 min drive time... i know what u mean the high pitch slip from the belt there i don't get it from the oem Toyota one should get one i think mine was like 5 bucks or something @ the dealer
My friend just replaced his battery in his Toyota car and it went dead in a day or so. I removed the pos. terminal and have never seen so much corrosion in my life. There are crevices it gets in. I told him to put it in a cup with baking soda & water and I was amazed at what came out. It's fine now and the light's off in the dash. Bring your truck to me and I'll throw it away for you, you're right, it's probably time for the crusher.
