I had my truck sitting for about a month. I went to go and start it to get it running, It started so I ran it for a little then turned it off. I went back two days later to start it and I can't get it to start. It sounded like it was not getting fuel so i checked the fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filters and everything to do with fuel. It all checked out good. So I checked the spark and plugs, cleaned the plugs and saw that I am getting sparks to the plugs. It sounds like it is about to run, but only when I press the gas, then It dies. I think the timing is off, but I didn't mess with the time or the dist... I don't know what is really wrong can you all help me out with this. It is almost done with the body and paint and would like to get it running. Thanks

dump a little gas down the carb and see if it will lite off your float bowl might of gone empty and you didnt let it run enough to refill itself

if yours is is fuel injected your injectors may have bleed down and now you have air in th line give it a shot of starting fluid

also thats a quick way to see if its gettin fuel because if it still wont start theirs a good chance something eles is wrong

I'm hoping that the gas in the truck is still in a good condition.

When you start, does it turnover?

is your VAFM on your intake connected? lol

    Anyway, hope it runs soon!

Yeah I checked the floats and i also opened it up and filled the bowls up and it still dosen't start. I also waited enough for the bowls to fill up before starting and still no start.

maybe you jus gotta clean that carb a little try to put a can of sea foam in the gas tank, or since the truck was sitting i would put two cans. and maybe your jets are clogged since it was sitting so long,if you have basic knowledge i would recamend pulling off the carb and shooting it with carb cleaner.

Everyone is mentioning about gas. If you know the gas issue is ok, now you need to check for spark.

He said there is spark but if there's spark and "assuming" the fuel sys and carb is ok then you may want to check compression. Most likey it will be a fuel prob bcuz with all this ethanol bull**** it just ruins fuel systems completely
