so i had an old guitar in the closet. it was already taken apart. got bored a few nights ago and decided to finally refinish it. but didnt wanna do the "glossy/nice" route. felt more like just screwin some stuff up. lol. so out came the dremal tool and a butane torch. i actually got pretty creative with it. used it for a wheel-less skateboard, dragged it through a parking lot, smacked it into my cement porch, torched it, stabbed it, melted it, sanded it, sharpied it, wire wheeled the fretboard, ect. every single piece of it was worn. every screw. and i threw some beefy slinky strings on (11-54s) anyways...heres some photos. im going to be doing some more for other people. one girl wants a bloody/zombie theme. other people just want this trashed look. lol. oh, and everything is stock except the pick gaurd i made and the radio shack knobs on it.
looks the same as the last one except with strings and the knobs got more work. people at guitar center thought i was crazy...for doing that and for putting that large of a string on this type of guitar. i call it my rat rod style. lol.
haha. it is really growing on me. i did another with a blood splatter theme last night for a friend. it came out good except the one smeared area. but oh well. lol. too lazy to fix that and she didnt care. heres a few pics.
i had about 20 minutes into the red work on it. it was trial and error. i have a few ideas how to better do that theme next time i do it on something.
