well a reverse often gives you clearance of the gas tank and exhaust (if you dump it before the axle). but the geometry is backwards, so if you stomp it hard off the lights or shift hard it wont plant the axle to the ground. if youre thinking reverse because of the gas tank, consider using a 3 link or wishbone upper link. the lowers you should be able to go to underneath or just outside the frame rails.

i have reverse 4 with wish bone so its like a 3link reverse....the only thing i dislike about iut is the ride quality..alot softer then your usual bag over axle set up...when you hit wavy roads it tends to sway alot...and wen you have to hit the gas u drag ur rear end for no reason...its a very soft ride so one dip in the road and youll be sent out of control..in hawaii we have alot of dips and pot holes so i spin out on a daily basis because the ride is sooo soft that it starts getiing wavy like a boat so i have to dump it and drag it...but otgher then that its a great set up because it trips everyone out and burnouts could never be easier...lol

You spin out on a daily basis? And yes I am finally on my way to bags....
I believe that even a forward four link can be made to "not plant" with not enough anti-squat designed in. I have built many forwards over the years at our 4WD shop, and have learned quite a bit about their design. I just haven't taken the time to study the effects of the reverse...

If you have pics of your reverse Notavailable, can you post them?

I prefer the forward facing 4-link myself, for me there just alot easier to set up right, I'm not saying that a reverse 4link is bad, I've ridden in plenty of them and you can get them to ride good and not bottom out, also a good pair of shock help out alot too. Just tossing this out there, you could 2-link it and run a watts link to keep the rear end centered.

:funnyup:YEAH! That is exactly the reason why I bought a reverse 4 link. It is the bolt on one from CanDo. I like to drift. Today my Dad noticed the tires were bald on his 94 Toyota pickup 2wd he uses for the shop. It was because of my drifting. Lol:evil:

When I was researching this subject, every suspension book I read said the same thing! Reverse will lift the rear tires ,while forward will plant them! 50%/50% bars foreword /bars reverse will cancel both,so there is no grain @ all!
You should be looking to get the best performance you can get when going to a link set up!
Moving the fuel tank is something that you just have to do!
Go to a fuel cell or have a tank made! Stock tank in the bed looks bad & is not safe!!
