Now that would be cool! Then you should paint it pink, and call it the Pink Toyadilac! But seriously, that would look cool.
So it's going to be a full frame now? Nice. I thought you were just going to back half it. Im ready to see this thing done!
i was going to just go back half but a number of factors made me change my mind... the stock suspension isn't very good for bags, so i'm updating it roughly based on the 84-95 toys. but everything will be hand made except the spindles and rack and pinion assembly.. also the stock frame isn't wide enough to hold the 1uz, so when i do the suspension i'm also making the frame as wide as the 84-95 frame. and finally, i need to bodydrop it 1 1/4 to lay flat rocker. i should be able to leave the floor completely stock, except for the transtunnel, and a small tub for the firewall. i'm in "negotiations" with my wife to have the truck driving by feb 20 for bring the noize. since she is funding the project 100% it's up to her. i would need at least a wiring harness, fuel and brake lines, a bunch of bushings and tubing for control arms, rear 4 link, motor and trans mounts etc. hopefully it will happen.
yeah i am. they only came with auto's in the states. there is a conversion kit being sold in austrailia, but they want a mint for it. plus i want this to be my daily, so the auto will be nice.
the bed will be modified to fit the caddy rear bumper and tailhousings. as well as sheetmetal the inside like i'm doing on the 86. i got the rest of the frame put together. just needs finish welding. i'm not installing a engine crossmember until i source a rack and pinion since the pivot of the lower control arms has to be the same as the rack.
thats right he finally towed it to his house today. he was complaining that it is hard to get into with a rollcage... thanks man! me too. i'm hoping to get cab mounts on it within a day or two, then set the cab down. then check fitment of that wide ass 1uz.
