Picked up the new MiniTruckin mag today and this truck is featured in it. The first thing I noticed was its a uni-body. Been thinkin of doin that to mine, what do you guys think on how it looks?
We did this 720 back about 18 years ago. I really like them myself. It also allowed us to do a bigger stereo in the back. It has: 1-30" sub 8-15" subs 4-10" subs 4-8" subs 3-sets of separates 11,500 watts of power and 11 batteries to power it all. BIG BOOM!!!
That guys lives in my town and I see the truck pretty regularly. It's a good looking truck and the unibody really looks cool. It took me a while to notice it though lol
It looks good but I heard tht it'll crack alot because the bed doesn't flex anymore but still tries causing it to crack.
If done proper i figure you would figure it wont crack. I approve ov uni-body-ing... lol I built a scale model yota and uni-bodied it..
Ford was the first to make a unibody truck in 1961 it ran until 1964 when it was discontinued because of cracking of the body because customers were overloading of the bed and towing. The upside and reason it was created in the first place is the car like fell, my opinion is if you're not going to overload it then its cool.
when you say unibody you don't actually mean it no longer has a frame right? your just referring to the bed gap being shaved, and possibly made into a walk-through?
the toy looks good, i thing you should do it dave! my buddy had a 66 ford unibody. they are also known for serious rust. i had him so close to bagging it, but when i told him the front straight axle had to go he changed his mind
I've been thinkin about....but I don't want to shave the body lines. Btw, Creepy, I love the old school Nissan with the big system. You con't see that anymore.
Would that newer tacoma bumper bolt right on or would it require much modification? Thanks in advance!
