Slacker great work man... I followed your build of the supratruck on some other forums... Let me know if you ever wanna sell this bad boy!!!
Thanks .. gonna get back to that one very soon I hope .... and as far as selling ... everythings for sale .. for the right price !!!! money talks baby
dash is basically ready to go for paint and trim . I still have to finalize the gaps yet .. but basically done here are the pics .... also .. trying to get all the little things done , I built the console arm rest , got it hinged and front latch , also the limit strap done .. and now also ready for trim/covering ... also working on the shifter boot mounting .. bent up a coat hanger into a square , and got it welded today .. figured out how I'm going to mount it .. just need to make some small clips ... .
Hurry up and finish it and we can talk price!!! What color will it be? Can I put in a request for it to be white? with the old school graphics like this one..
you could ... but ONLY with a deposit !! If you are serious , you need to email me [email protected] , so we can discuss . I have already purchaced the Inferno red paint though , as well as coming sterio , and interior .. will hugely affect price . heres the color and I will have "silver" original decals going on it .. .
so some pics of the shifter boot mount .. here is the "ring" with the clips .. the shifter boot will be sewn to the ring , and the held down with the clips .. on to these studs . .
im talking about the ridges on the top. If you look at the yellow one im talking about 4 raised strips on the roof.
so .. not much going on .. but I have been collecting some parts .. got my front bumper finally .. (thanks to Adam ) also got my rear seats (thanks to Darren) I also picked up a stock 89 4Runner roll bar i'm goin to try incorporate in to the build . also finally got my stock wiper blades and mudflaps (thanks to Paul) thoughts for a rear bumper are leading to a 4Runner as well .. it has a straight bar with ends .. It has the "winch hole" .. but i'm thinkin' If I can get a banged up one .. I can weld up the unwanted holes , and have it re-chromed .. and I think I have the rear licence plate lamp worked out .. I hate to think of it , but the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder has my perfect solution . anyway .. thats where I'm at !! .
so I was able to get to the shop today to work on my own stuff (finally) ... pulled the top off . and the outer fenders ... got the fender inners all cleaned up , and ready to repair the cracks and add the tail lamp pockets . also figured the placement of the rear seats and then pulled the tub off ready to start cutting that up also started on the rear seats .. pulled the seat covers off of the bottoms , and got everything measured and figured . the factory 4Runner width measures 51" .. max trekker width I'm going to make work is 42" which means I'm going to cut the tub and the seats to fit . I have measured the seats and had to cut 4.5" out of the frames .. 2.25 on each side , 3" in . got one done today .
little more today .... started re-sizing the other side so got it done ... this pic gives you an idea about the size i'm going for ... and cut the tub , but didnt want to cut to much out in "one shot" .. so this way I can glass it back up and regain some rigidity and a "test" fit also .. started on the backs of the seats .. removed the covers and foam and readied them for cutting .The backs are a different cut pattern , as they have the headrests .. I will still need to remove the headrest supports , and re weld them in the correct position . .
so had a little time today .. and got the seat backs cut and tacked also removed the headrest supports and the lock support .. got the foams cut and glued also was able to start on relocating the lock support .. and cutting out some of the rusted old supports
got the seat backs mocked up .. and i'm stoked .. lines are perfect . I'm hoping to have them work like the 4runner , with the bottoms lifting up , and the backs folding down .. so far so good . also got some work on done on the fenders repaired all of the cracks and lower lip + the holes previous owners have put in .. also got the new taillamp pockets in .
wee bit more today ... got the mount strips rienforced , and added a memorandum (my biz card) glassed in place also got the seats all welded up .. with the locks cut the top seat glass out to expose the rusted steel rienforcement strip .. and did some POR-15 to help prolong longjevity . hopefully i will get it glassed up tomorrow .
