called up a buddy of mine that works at a body shop askin what the use to remove old pinstripes and stickers. its an air tool called a crud thug. this thing is awesome. took the stripes off in about 20 minutes for the whole truck. pretty much its a big rotating eraser. never seen one before. anyways, heres a pic. i think that it looks great. next week im gettin my wheels on. then next comes the drop or fenders, more than likely the drop. well enjoy.
I've heard those things work well, I just blew mine off with a pressure washer, lol. The only bad thing abobut that was it left the sticky glue **** on the truck. Looks great man.
thanks guys. its still has a LONG way to go. im just happy to finally see progress after acutally owning to for over a year. its pretty much stayed parked in my carport the entire time waiting till i was able to turn it to what i want. hopefully this will be with me my entire life, so im going to build it exactly how i want. no matter how long it takes. these things take time. i just have to keep telling myself that.
oh yeah, im going to try to remove the moldings tomorrow. i didnt have time to mess with it at the shop. im going to go get some 3m adhesive remover and i barrowed a heat gun from work. i should be able to get it off.
These trucks are all a work in progress, never really done. It's all about time and money. When we get some of one or the other, we begin to do what we can. Just remember, what ever you do, you can always go back and change it if you want to. I've been working on mine for a year now, it's my daily driver, and money is always an issue. I do what I can, when I can. Good luck with the build!
Been building mine for going on 8 years now, plenty of time(retired),running out of money!! There's always something else to add, change or do over!!
took off the molding strip today. still hasve to get the glue off. went and bought one of those erasers today. using it with my drill. keep running down the batteries. guess its going to take a little longer than i thought to get the gluw off while i wait for the batteries to charge. should have wheels on monday or tuesday. will post pics when i do.
pneumatic drill and a big compressor and a good set of gloves or your hands will have frost bite on them, lol.
