Got my new air intake in from ebay this weekend. Quality isnt that great but not to bad for the price I guess. I had to buy another elbow from the parts store and a coupler for the air sensor. The one that came with the kit didn't fit. I also had to cut the tube shorter. Just thought I would give my opinion for those thinking of buying one from ebay.
i plan on getting one myself, but i cant figure out what i do with the hotwater pipe or whatever it is that runs alongside the factory intake tube
That tube that runs along side the stock air tube, feeds air to the resonator, that to the air suction valve( 22RE) only,& the engine will run wrong if you won't use it.You can get a air tube with a fitting on it or easily drill a hole & add on.Make sure to use thread lock so the nut doesn't enter the throttle body!! I got my air tube only from Weapon-R, & the silicone connectors from Hose Techniques, they have the tubes also. www.hosetechniques.com:cool:
hmm.. i dont plan on running a cone filter.. so all i need is the pipe and couplers.. i could run tubing from the airbox in place of the piece that connected to the factory intake tube
i have the same one from ebay.. but with the stock plastic piping. i was thinking about making it cold air... and guiding some tubing to the filter where it is lower, away from the engine where colder denser air is!! good idea? also working on mounting the intake to the chasis so it doesnt move around..
hey where did you get that and is that a 4 banger i really been lookin for one for my truck but i couldnt find one
If thats all you need then look on Ebay & get an intake for any Honda Civic. They are some of the cheapest on there & you can always cut the pipe to size.
i'll check out Autozone then... no need to pay shipping when i can get one of those cheap ass intake pipes in town
