hey guys im located in Virginia/North Carolina... i just made an account on here and have to say you guys KNOW your trucks...

with that said i have a 90' yota and i will be lowering it soon.

ive done plenty of research on here and from a beginner of lower trucks i found that some user on here had a HOW To thread with guides of actual pictures.. that came in SOOOO HANDy
THANK YOu to whomever posted that up.

but i have a couple ?'s 1. when lowering the truck with torsion bars in the front, do you just loosen the bolts up and let it stay in until about 3 inchs of bolt is showing on the top?? to get around 3 inchs of drop in the front

    2. when doing the leaf springs many people asking is it better to take a middle spring out and just zip tie them together to bolt the two back together or simply use blocks and turn them upside down ,,, which will get a better ride and lower.?

I know people say lowering arms and spindles are better but that truck i got welllll its a lil much of a new cadillac so i dont mid the bouncy rougher ride i do not want bad camber wear though.. any suggestions??/

Thanks and glad to be here people keep up your guys hard work and good looking machines!

for the back you can pull the middle leaf. use a clamp to hold the top and bottom ones together while you bolt them back together. you can also cut off the weird bracket that keeps the bottom on from turning at the ends. its ugly and wont be needed anymore. after that figure out how much block you want to use.

for the front, yeah, just crank that bolt and let the little tab come down towards the ground. i usually just went until it was even with the crossmember. it got me about even with the fender lips on my 92. no camber wear really. alignment shop showed it was only about 2.5* when stock is like 0.5-1.0*. i would do the front drop, then pull the leaf, and then figure out how much block you need. my 92 had a rake with the bars set there and 3" blocks. i didnt pull a leaf on that one though. or, start with a 3" block and adjust the front to match, pull a leaf and adjust more for a lower stance.

post some pictures, let us see whatcha got to start with.

My leaf removal netted 2-3", I ran a 3" block, DJM drop arms, and cranked Torsions for a 6-6 drop.

    Welcome!

B/J flip got me about 1-2" of drop.
mid leaf removal gave me approx. 2"
Then i put that back in and did 3" drop blocks.

Btw, when you drop your rear, first thing you should do is trim the bumpstop! you want to retain some suspension clearance and movement.
