i think i need to prime it. kinda looks crappy with the raw steel and mill scale still on it...

the other side will be a bitch! the remote oil filter is is the way, and the intake hangs way over....

I love the look of raw steel! I wish it would stay that way, but I am pretty close to the coast. Even if I were to clear coat it it wouldn't look like that for long around here. I hate the look of rust... It will look good painted up though.

i don't mind raw steel. it's the mill scale i hate. and my flap disc is sooooo worn that it wouldn't take it off, and i didn't want grind marks on it.

i got to go restock the weld supply soon, i'll buff them down then.

these are from this past weekend

not a very productive weekend. we tore the whole truck apart (that always sucks...). i fabbed up the 2nd motor mount, and officially got the motor mounted. welded the bed sides to the bed frame, finished the section of the firewall i trimmed to move the motor back, and cut out the little bit of firewall we had. we decided to get all new sheetmetal so that it looks professional, as well as remove the remainder of the factory floor and frame and sheetmetal it...

both sides are built but it was a pain to get pics of the passenger side... now i need to get the upper brackets built, as well as weld the cirlce plates to the bottom bar for support.

    little update.

been doing lots of little crap to tidy it up. only thing worth a pic is the steering column. the column is from a 66 ford f-100. i shortened it and will be adding universal joints to clear the suspension. mounts in the stock holes.

last wednesday i got the steering working... i used 2 steering sector shafts from fox body mustangs, and some 3/4" rod that i had laying around. i still need one more bearing to support the shaft, but it works well enough to steer it for now.
