I bought 120 hyperbright 1/4" rounds (with resisters) on ebay for $12 shipped.

BTW, those tail lights are killer. (really nice work)

Do you know which seller you got it from? I'm having a hard time deciding who and where to look at.

you don't wanna use those 1/4 rounds for tail lights or turn signals they are not bright enough...use Superflux LEDs for that..also you will need a PWM for your tail/stop lights..Go over to http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=3&start=0&sid=81bda12de0c94f0e28c8e738b73f3a25
and sign up they have tons of good info and there is a dedicated LED section with links to good places for parts..I learned everything I needed to know when I made my turn signals with genuine superflux leds

wow. that is the best install of that type of mod i have seen yet. and i really like the use of the dimmer switch. did he do that so if a cop said its too bright for a marker, he could turn it down a little by popping the interior panel out? ingenious little extra though.

i am still in the air on doing this to my 78. if i do, i want to install an extra layer of diffuser using some home depot raised ceiling lighting on the inside of the lens. so its just really bright. led dots wouldnt flow with the way the truck looks. i just want it for the brightness factor. too many times people almost rear end me. maybe theyre stupid. but either way, i want them to know im slowing down :D

you can also avoid the LED Dot look if you put your array as far away from the lens as possible

I use a vinyl diffuser inside all the ones I send out for the 3rd brake lights. It kills about 85% of the hot spots.

(in person it has even less hot spots than in the pic)

are those the dome leds? you should switch to superflux 120 degree viewing angle and there is virtually no hot spots when spaced correctly
