the cap isn't the worry, just make sure they are sitting flat against the hub.

    for clairity here....

dust cap = the metal cap that covers the wheel bearing nut/ cotter pin.

center cap = came with the wheel, makes it look pretty.

you MUST run a dust cap.

how close is it when both the dust cap and center cap are installed?

you can get away with denting the dust cap a bit to clearance it, and if its too much it isnt hard to pound it back. you'll know its too much when you spin the wheel and the nut/cotter pin will scrape the dust cap.

That is the same problem I am having with my xrunner wheels. As suggested in an earlier post I too am looking at denting in my dust cover... but I have to find out how much clearance I have in there first. Other wise I may either get real thin spacers or just leave them off. Probably try to dent the cover though.

I think I might try to smash mine in tomorrow. I think I need 1/4'' to 1/2'' ... anyone know if we have enough clearance in there?

yes....... you can get 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch spacers.... i think even 3/4 inch. all depends.

i think FOKAI on here has some that he wont be using anymore.... i'd pm him. his are 1 inch or 1.5 i dont remember.

if you look at MacRib's truck, he is running 1/4 inch spacers to allow enough room to clear the hub on his 94' for the 350Z wheels....... take a look... i think he got all his for $20? oh and yes.... there is enough threads left to grab the wheel with these spacers unless you go 1"

general..... not sure where you got the wheels but, if you go to any wheel shop and ask for wheel spacers or "wheel shims" they will likely have them. :waytogo:

    Guys, to answer your questions,

No you can't beat in the grease cap enough to get clearance.

So, Yes you will need some sort of spacer. With my wheels, I had to run a 1" wheel adapter to clear the center cap.
