Nitrogen all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read up Bitches!!!! http://www.moderntiredealer.com/Art...Measure-it-against-these-answers-to-FAQs.aspx
I think its a good idea... but many places wont get it cause of the machine you have to buy. Yes the fact that the particles are bigger, makes them less resistant to leaks, and the nitrogen doesnt expand and contract as much as air, makes me wonder if it really matters. If you think about it, even if you put air in your tires there is still nitrogen in it! Its just not pure. I think its like 70% Nitrogen in the air we breath. So why spend money to fill up your tires when you can just air them up for free.
Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases jay leno swears by it. the big thing is there is NO water in nitrogen. keeps your rims nice and like was stated, does not expand/contract or leak as easy.
Hahahaha man u took that from wikipedia! Lol. And yes Nitrogen filled tires are great... but im just not down with paying that much to have my tire filled. Prolly cause im cheap!
Ok this is my thought on it...I think its a waste on money. I work at an automotive dealership & I asked all 6 mechanics there what they thought & they also agreed that it was a waste. We get customers that come in all the time asking about it, so we tested a few cars with it & the customers came back saying that they didnt notice any difference in ride, the fact that they didnt have to check the tire pressure that often or any effects that it had on the tire good or bad. So its pretty much up to the person & what you believe also what your willing to pay for, but Ill stick with air/oxygen cause it works just fine.
When I bought my wheel tire combo, they camewith free nitrogen fill. The wheels were mounted, balanced and filled with it. The only thing I can say is that Ive checked my tire pressure many many times and have never had to add or take anything out. I havent noticed any differece in ride quality at all than normal air filed tires, but cant anyway because Ive never run air in this setup, so I cant add anything . . . the debate continues . . .
I get my tires filled with nitrogen for free at the shop I bought my wheels and tires at.. I like how I almost never need to fill my tires, but would I ever pay for it? Hell no.
