Went n picked up a 4runner hood from a pull a part...no modification needed have 2 inches from top of manifold
But will it still clear the hood when you install the Holly double pumper and air cleaner? . . . . . . . . . .
Cory, I ran into the same situation with hood clearance. I wanted to keep the sleeper look with the stock hood so I installed a LS1 low profile intake manifold with the throttle body and fuel rails from Hawks Motorsports. Easily cleared my hood with no issues. A carb and intake manifold would have required me to purchase a fiberglass hood with a aftermarket hood scoop.
Im running a ls6 intake on mine right now have a 102mm on it but probably gonna switch to 92mm just for that but more clearance
No I have no issues yet ...but haven't fully set motor in yet ...debating if I wanna go back a inch or two into cab ... but I'm sure it will all work out in the end
Are you fabricating your own motor mounts or ordering a LS swap kit? I am using the Dirty Dingo brand LS universal hot rod engine mounts and I welded the mounts onto the frame after centering it up. There are many other LS swap mounts on the market that could work as well.
I have some universal LS mounts ...also using a low profile oil pan as well ... my truck is fully bagged with a 3 in body drop so need low pro pan
I also had to install a low profile oil pan for my build because the motor I have is from a Silverado and the pan was too deep for my truck build.
