Naw I'm gonna leave the rear as it sits or at least drive it around for a bit before I mess with anything else. I've got to hook the exhaust back up first.

Are you guys all running without stabilizer bars? Figure i'll try it for a while and get new bushings if I want to re-install.

 

I'm. The front is to low, it keeps breaking the bolts that hold the stabilizer bar in place.

 

No sway bar sucks. Find a way to keep it. Maybe flip it to the bottom of the LCA somehow

 

Anyone know where to get the bushings that connect from the sway to the LCA? I see the bracket bushings on RA but not the others.

 

I am curious too. over lunch when I replaced a radiator hose I was seeing that all the rubber for my steering system is shot so that is on the list too now

 

The sway bar system for our trucks is no longer made, they have switched from the brackets to mounting the sway bar to the frame. So anywhere you go they will have the mounts for the frame not the brackets. Here is a link for the bushings that mount to the bar and bottom part of the brackets.

The bushings to the LCA are pretty much like shock bushings. At this point just make something work

 

As she sits waiting at the muffler shop to have em weld up the headers to the down pipe.

 

I am curious how much quieter it will get. I have a crazy cherry bomb on this truck and with the floor pans all rotted out you get plenty of exhaust smell and its loud af in the cab

Maybe that was intentional??? Find a shop with the same color scheme.

 

I got a turbo style muffler on my truck the po had got and was still good. Really quiet in the cab. Only really hear intake sounds. If I open the exhaust my idle goes up because the muffler is so restricting. It's all 2 inch pipe.

 

Prior to the headers I was 2" all the way though with cat and muffler. Not sure what muffler but it sounded good to my ear. I'll get a video of it with the headers this afternoon.

I randomly came across a video last week of some kid's truck on YouTube with a 1uz swap. I paused the video when I was questioning why everything looked so strange on his truck -- then I looked at his post history and the kid decided to just do a truck body swap onto an old LS400 "chassis" hahaha....well that's certainly one way to do it!
