So a problem popped up while resetting the timing for smog check I noticed that a fuse that is part of my alarm system had popped. Seems that when the doors open it pops, the door pins complete ground so there must be a voltage back feed somewhere.
Trouble shooting this is a real pain ,as I had to trace the fused wire to see where it was going, which had me removing a lot at the dash.First disconnecting the alarm to make sure that was not it.
Next pull the rocker covers & pins an see what I can find.

Check your wiring harness between the door and cab. These can get pinched and cause a short. You may have to open the wire loom and check each wire carefully. Go for the color of alarm wire first.

Thanks, but there are no alarm wires running into the doors themselves , the door pin wires are under the rocker covers .
What wires do run into the doors are all good as the power widows & safety latches work fine alone with the door poppers

Literally, the worst kind of problem IMHO. I rather rebuild a motor then chase an open circuit. Lol. Rectifying diodes can help you stop blowing fuses but won't solve your problem.

How deep did you have to go? What was the culprit?

It turned out that a consent hot was happening at the door pins from a miss installed wire.
Why ,how & when this happened is a mystery, has the alarm is in use when never at out of town or state shows!
