Yup forsure. Looking at it the latch kind of looks farther forward. Probably just going to take making some standoffs for move to mechanism.

This was a nice score. Now to buy the cable. To bad I can only find generic ones for 45 bucks.

Loving the build. Where did you pickup the dual sidedraft carb setup?

Lce. They will ship it fully assembled. But lacked documents like initial setup that redline normally gives you. Made me hate them a little. When I install acs I give people all their documents. Even the install manual.

Went ahead and ordered the 2 other parts that I was really interested in from PJ's Garage. I really wanted to scope them up before some else did. Just under 400 for both with shipping. Not to bad. Decent bumbers on ebay go for that price so it's a really good deal. I've seen one new for about 600. I've only seen replacement tailgates by him so it would probably be pretty expensive if it was someone else selling. I was going to see if he has the latches those are easy to find though. I really want to see about door skins. I'll wait on those. He's throwing in a free be. Getting the little rubber stoppers. Thinking about that I've never seen them on ebay but could of easily missed them. Got the laches on order. All these body parts has me thinking of the look I want out of the truck. Really been digging the mini truck dragsters you see in Guam. I'm thinking I'll do a nice crunky wheel and tire combo in the back. Seeing that guy's have got tens in the rear has me looking at centerline convo pros or maybe even some welds. Not sure if I'm going to go full drag with some skinny wheels in the front. Still plan on turning with it. When I first got the truck bags was the thing I wanted to do. Because I seen myself using the bed more I've been on and off about that. Not against a little hump in the bed so leaning towards a little bag and 4 link setup for drag. I've thought about just doing helper bags for when I have weight in it. I would never really be happy with that. I think I'll buy the rear wheels soon though and see how much I'll need to drop it. I might be able to get away with none. If you know a wheel and tire size the can fit the bill let me know. Have never really looked into sizing wheels.

Did my monthly drive lol. Noticed the throttle was hanging up bad. Made a spring out of welding rod and its doing the job. Probably going to drive to the shop in the next week or so and totally fix the parking brake. Just tied it up for now with welding rod so I could move it. I'll probably add something to catch the cable if it breaks again. I realized I was lucky the cable didn't get tangled in the driveline when it dropped and was bouncing around. Although I plan on welding a nub where the c clip was so it can't fall out or be removed again. 1614047129075_7523053710_3b56b037.jpg

Drove down to the shop. Fixed the handbrake and got some exhaust hangers on. Also replaced my home made spring for a couple real ones. Ripped it home and it did alright. Still has a little after fire going on. Did a burnout after every stop. I did opened the exhaust valve and man does it sound decent at high revs. I was going to shot a video but I broke my tripod. Next time.

Finally growing up. Got a rivnut tool. No more welding and grinding nuts on the hilux. Order it because I had bought a bunch of ricy hardware to bolt down body panels and ran into a couple spots I needed it. 1614384603401_5644618082_3b56b037.jpg 1614387199819_8462797196_3b56b037.jpg Everytime I touch the hardware I remember I need to do a bunch of pulling. I nearly got the grill in the right spot. Have every bolt but one in on the top of it. Still need to order the grill clips. Remembering that the early valance is pretty important so you can bolt up the bottom. I'm thinking about buying another later model valance splitting it at the bumper then weld in the top of my early one. Just a random thought I had last night. I really need to suck in the fenders to get everything better. I'm working on an idea for that.

Whose (company) rivnut tool is that? Looks like a good one?

I have a rivnut tool I bought from JC Whitney about 30 years ago. Kind of a cheap looking tool that gets the job done but I want to get something of better quality just in case mine decides to break at a critical time...

It was a cheep one from a company called tack life on Amazon. Has a gimmicky way of unthreading that could easily fail. But good reviews.

Got to use my new tool. Worked good. Went ahead and did all the fender hardware with rivnuts. So now I don't need a wrench to back the bolt. I'll just need an Allen wrench. Probably going to dress up every bolt on the body with an Allen head. Spent some time cleaning the bay. The winter weather and body gap in the hood allowing shit in had it looking pretty bad. Oh and anyone wondering why I haven't polished the valve cover I realized I used the wrong one and couldn't use the oldschool metal oil cap. So lost motivation and need to start on my other one. 1614456801397_8451903956_3b56b037.jpg 1614456801420_445965652_3b56b037.jpg

Should have this guy in a couple weeks. Screenshot_20210226-075210_Yahoo Mail.jpg I think the tune will fit the hilux well. Had to order it from France. Shipping was over half the cost but I really want that tune. My grandma ordered me the dui rev limiter module for me for my birthday. Should be here this week. Also order new headlight brackets. Still need to order some headlights. Probably going to get some yellow centers. Not sure yet. Will have a new gorilla pod this week so I will be able to do a driving video. I'll plan on doing one when I hit up bestbuy this weekend to pick up an order.

Went to install the rev limiter today. It failed out of the box. First I noticed the holes are not big enough for the screws on the heat sink so it kept wanting to lift. Second one of the existing screws was not long enough for the new module. Also no heat sink paste that they said they included. Got it installed and set everything up. I go to crank and it's taking to long but kicking so I go to adjust my dizzy and here fuses poping and my dizzy smoking. Got on the phone right away. I was a little mad but I didn't go off. They were cool. Let them know just about everything I ran into on the install but forgot to mention the one screw being to short. Sending out a new one tomorrow. Going to return the other one because they want to look at it. I don't think they sold many so they want idea of what happened. Anyways got the old module back in and running again.
