Figured I should post an actual build thread as I am nearing completion (hah!).

    As she was:
    As she is:
    Things to do:

Install Idler Arm and Pitman Arm
    Install new Speedo Cable
    Lower the truck
    Replace floor pans
    New Seats
    Carpet

I think thats about it. If I get bored I might start messing with the motor but I need my other car up and running before I do that.

Oh and check this out, my driveshaft came loose while I was going about 40.

Oh and white bumper, thoughts? Spraying chrome is a bitch yeah?

White steelies look good with that blue. For the bumper id just scuff it to give it the brushed look

Not too bad, a handful of quarter sized holes but I went a bit overboard and found new panels to install.

Love that blue! I'm with the party of keeping the chrome, it is rare to find nice, and would match the center caps on yer wheels nicely.

Yeah exactly. I picked up an LS400 that needed some work which is taking up my garage right now but once I've got it road worthy I can daily it and really go to town on the truck.

Love the truck, where did you get the chrome inserts around head lights?

Threw some new seats in the truck, came out of a 90s corolla. Got em for 50 bucks, super clean and nicely bolstered. They fit really well in the truck, I just need to bring the back up an inch or so. They are just kinda sitting in there right now. I'll probably build a simple wood frame for now. I've got to gut the interior first before I permanently mount them.

    Looks good.

Did you lose any leg room/closer seating position to wheel when you did the Corolla seat swap? I did a bucket seat swap on my old Datsun and that was one thing I kinda regretted, due to a noticeable loss of leg room/seating position compared to the bench I had before.

I've painted chrome before with what I'd call success. It was one of those A-pillar spotlights for my old K5 blazer - was chrome and I painted it drab green to match my camo paint (never again on any vehicle, lol). I believe I used BIN primer after some scuffing with sand paper, to get my paint to stick. Held up to sticks and branches rubbing on it on the trails, which I'd say is similar to road debris hitting a bumper, so that's why I'm calling it success. I would plasti-dip it if it was me, that way its reversible if not liked. I haven't looked for a bumper yet but parts are hard enough to find for these trucks

Finally got around to pulling my cracked exhaust manifold and it looks like I was missing a stud, also no gasket! I’ve got a set of shorty headers going in once I get my LCE header studs.

Just the bottom right. The other two were fused with the nut and came out of the block. Nothing stripped tho so all good.

Do you have a link to the floor pans? Mine are shot and need a complete replacement. Thanks!
