If that was the case I would expect numbers bouncing towards the rich end giving me false reading. None of the cylinders are down so it can't be that lean. I getting spitting out the carb when lean. Always full lean on the aem is pointing to failed sensor. I can do the brake cleaner test but I'll be using the color tune soon. I'll be at 14.7 if I get a blue combustion flame and be able to confirm the o2 is bad. Looking into it more this is a huge problem. The o2 isn't shock proof and is easily damaged in shipping.
Got my color tune kit. Grab a few pictures of what it looks like and page from the manual. I would be going at it right now but I told the homie about it and he wants to see it in action. Got some iridium sparkplugs to install as well.
Didn't get to use the color tune yet but aem did email me back. Had me do a rag test and it failed. Should have a new sensor soon.
Note on how aem wideband sensor warranty works. They want you to send a picture or video of bad sensor physically destroyed by cutting the wires at the base.
Finally had a day where it didn't rain all day. Tuned up the truck and got the new spark plugs in. Thinking I might have a float or needle problem though. Its randomly running rich. I'll look into that soon. Its seems like I won't need to rejet it though. Pretty consistent blue combustion flame throughout the revs other then the times it dumps fuel. Also was able to watch the temp. Got it up to operational temperature with the fan off. Was at 190 plus. Turned on the fan and watched it drop to 180 in a couple minutes. I have my temp sensor at the drain port on the block. I would think that checks out good.
Had a big scare in the hilux. I ripping around town doing burnouts off every light. When I get to the last one and in the middle of it I here a big bang and clanking. No noticeable power lose or smoke but totally thought I put a hole in my block or pistons met valve. I was only a block away so I kept going. I pull up to my slanted driveway pull the handbrake and notice its not engaging. Turns out the pivot point broke and was dragging. Had to find a way to stop the car. Had a rock close by that I was able to grab from the cab and put behind the front wheel. Big relief though. I wasn't going to be really pissed if it blew up tho because it would of happen during a burnout. C clip was lose and it just fell out. Found it in the caked on oil.
Oh man, I know that feeling of "Holy shit, did I just seriously fuck things up by having some stupid fun??!". I'm super glad that it wasn't anything serious, because your engine turned out so nice looking!
Got some locking hood pins installed. The latch is acting up and the cable broke. I'll still replace those down the road but they're pricey for what they are. Dont want to pay that now. Also more people are popping hoods and stealing parts nowadays. I really don't want that happening. Last reason because racecar.
Good job. I'd kinda imagine the pins make the truck more of a target though - Thief might see old ass truck with hood pins and immediately think owner's trying to protect something not stock under the hood and at least be more curious and want to 'investigate'
Not to worried about it being targeted because of it. If anything people will just think I'm being a ricer and have a broken latch. Lmao I think if a thief did want the hot parts they would just steal the truck. I literally live a block away from the police headquarters. A thief wouldn't want to spend to much time steeling stuff. More so thinking of the dude that will do anything to get his rig working. Like stealing. Even though they would be playing a guessing game on what I got.
Perhaps I've just lived in some bad areas in my life where unless its hidden inside your locked garage, someone will want to mess with it
Merry Christmas. Probably got the best gift for the truck. A fire extinguisher. Lmao its what i asked for wasn't just a funny joke.
No shit thats dope. Ive been wanting to carry a small on in mine because you never know with an old car
Yup didnt want to be that guy that just had to watch his rig burn while trying to get a fire extinguisher.
Made this world in Minecraft around my Hilux and an ae86 a few years ago. I haven't finished the ae but I finally was able to get the file uploaded. Cool thing to check out with the little ones. The file is from the windows version. I could maybe get one for mobile if needed. I think there are ways to convert it though. https://mega.nz/file/wwBUgRgA#KkcVBrHUJDMBwCb9EDqc3dJo8O3wY31pFCj9FOJuo8Q
Finally bought the hood from the guy out of the country. Sent me pics of it. It's the later hood so I don't think it will latch but will see if I can mod it to. Otherwise I'll buy some beefer hood locks. It's going to take 3 months to get here by ship. I took the cheapest option. 225 with shipping though.
Got to say this guy is going pretty far to prove he's legit and giving me no reason to think otherwise. Message him if you have a part your looking for. He never listed the hood but I just asked. Good prices. Shipping might end up be the most expensive if you want it faster. He has a bumper, tailgate, and early grill. https://www.facebook.com/groups/967477223360841/permalink/3509491212492750/?sfnsn=mo
