i will man im cutting the bed up next week and starting doin it again

but the reason i want to do a raised wooden bed is that no-one has wooden beds except a few trucks here and there and classics everyone else either has a shell on it or a sheetmetal bed thats painted i just want to be different and stand out

has anyone done this before im in need of the chrome strips to hold the wood down the only other option i have is to get some 1" stainless angle and that maybe rather expensive.....

most of the ones iv seen they have a just like a sheetmetal strip then you take like a small peice of c channel and you bolt them together with the wood in between....

Interesting concept, keep us posted. Use a hard wood like Oak or something else, a wood place will know of more. And for the steel strips, old Chevy's and and Ford F-100's from the 50's used them so try a Google search for some stores that deal with those trucks. My grandfather and I redid mine in my old 55 when I had it. What I learned is definitely use a high end out door protectant or all your hard work will start to die quickly.

well the wood i got is oak and its been ina school for about 30 years very well kept care off so its dried out im going to plane it down and re-stain /seal it im not quite sure what kinda of finish to use i was going to use polyurethane on it then go back and spray a couple coats of clear over it but idk about that either
