hey guys. been away from the forum for a long time. the luxus is somewhere up in the pacific northwest to the best of my knowledge. the thread is down due changes in photobucket. anyways i scored this 71 fj40 for super cheap with a clean title. hoping to make it a runner and sell it to fund my daughters 66 mustang project. here's some pics of where it's at at the moment.

    when i brought it home

truck has some rust issues. appears to have come out of washington. rear lip was toast and there is some general issues through out the body.

i'm keeping the wheel opening shape stock, but they're opened up for the larger size tires. the 33's were really close to rubbing the stock quarter openings.

    rocker panels needed some work

truck came with full doors and some hacked half doors. i'm reshaping the cuts and finishing the half doors.

picked up these 33's for a decent price. i like the slotted mags but they're a pretty dated look

that pretty much brings the build current. i want to get the motor pulled and freshened up and get the wiring done. also planning to install a pickup gas tank at the rear of the frame and installing a proper gas door.

Nice work, looks like you are being very thorough! LandCruisers are some of the highest valued Toyotas anywhere. Done right you should get good money for your efforts. (Please ditch the hood scoop if you can)

These guys are really near me, straight up the nicest cruisers anywhere!

There is a lot missing from that truck, how far beyond rust repair are you taking it? Its the little bits that add up surprisingly quick.

Any chance you are selling the slot mags?

funny you mention that. when i got the truck it has all the pieces of diamond plate to hide the rust. looks like crap in my opinion.

I feel you on that. Im not a purist in any way but a Toyota engine would definitely be nice to see under the hood
