welcome im parting out a 78, i have lots o crap if you need it. in the northgate area. what are you plans for it?
Cool, thanks for the heads up, and thanks to everyone for the welcoming! I'm in the Lake Stevens area and I work *just* south of the Northgate area (off of Lake City Way, and 98th). As far as my plans with this truck. I am a little undecided. I bought it, because I bought a house that requires a bit of a renovation, but I did not have a pick-up for hauling, and our 1988 Suburban with it's 454 is a bit of a gas hog to go to the home improvement stores and back. I think the oil pump seals are shot, there is oil all over the front of the engine, and it leaks horribly when I'm driving it. I plan to degrease it this weekend and see if I can locate the issue(s). There is some cancer in the bed that has eaten a hole straight through behind the driver wheel well. With that, I may be interested in replacing the bed at some time, but I believe it is the long box version. A couple things that I may have some immediate need of: The interior of my driver door is missing. The passenger door is missing the window crank. (both mechanisms in both doors for rolling up/down the windows may be bad, I need to check) The windscreen has a bunch of cracks and chips, and part of the windscreen seal is missing a chunk out of the top passenger side allowing water into the cab. My battery tray is missing any tie-down equipment. There is a bungee holding it down. My parking brake does not work. I believe the cable is bad; I would be very interested in parking brake equipment. Some potential upgrades I may do: Bucket seats instead of the bench. My bench doesn't have a middle seat belt, so I think the bench is absolutely worthless. I have been thinking about eventually changing out the 4-speed for a 5-speed. I would like to add a couple of analog gauges: tach, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp (maybe), voltage, and ampmeter. Eventually I would also like to wire in a 4-speaker stereo system (nothing too impressive). I'd like to put in fog lights.
welcome to the fast growing toyota family man, gotta love them oldies. Kep up the goodwork & keep us posted on them updates as you get em. Great ob with the pics . . .
Not a bad platform you've got there. Old school vehicles are b****en. Scrapping a bench is in my agenda too. I've got a torn up vinyl, but I still have the center seat belt, just not installed. Good thing you brought pix too... a lot of us are adamant (and some violent) about not having them.
welcome to the site...you've got a nice project there & be sure to check our sister site at...www.yotascene.com
