question bout slammin

    ok i put 3" blocks and mono leafed my buddys 93 standard cab yota and the driveshaft crossmember rubbed the driveshaft. can i cut the crossmember out or what?im slamming my truck but dont wanna tear my drive shaft up

    93 Pick up I6 Turbo
    You can notch it to move it higher. Just make sure you reinforce it to keep it strong.

    so i cant just cut it out?whats the lowest i can take it with out it rubbing?

    while i think its kinda ghetto to just hack it out, i have seen a ton of yotas missing it and nothing bad happens.

    I did 3" blocks & drop shocks and left the springs. No problems.

    yeah when i bag it ill build a new one but for time being ill just cut the bitch...

    sounds good, you could use the new crossmember to mount the 4 link :)

    Cut that ****er lol...youll be fine & all you really need to do is trim out the center some just above the driveshaft. I had to do it to my 88 standard cab & had it like that for years!!

    I third that, I chopped mine out when I bagged mine and havent gotten to redo it yet the way I like, but no problems here, been bout 7 months this way . . .

    chop it

    Before I bagged mine, I chopped mine up to the top of it, leaving that little bit. I had 3" blocks on monoleaf with flipped overload. You're also going to have to cut the rear gas tank crossmember b/c the axle will hit it. I cut mine at the tank and the muffler bracket on the other side.

    Just saw you got an extra cab. Just cut the back one and you'r good. You have a 2 piece driveshaft unlike the standard cabs.

    so ill be able to go as low as i want with out having to worry bout rubbing since its extra cab

    yup, exactly. my truck was maxed out (dad loaded with too much dirt and bricks and stuff!) and no rubbing

    Oh God yes lol...when me & my buddy Jay did the tranny swap in my extra-cab it took us both to hold that sucker in place!! Then with it being a 2-piece it was a all over the place too lol!
