Truck Action... how do you set up your welder when you're welding on think steel like our trucks? i was welding some square tubes on the cab to place my amps on and my welds started burning through the metal.., so I then turned down the power as well as the wired feed speed and that seemed to help, but my welds looked a bit bubbly.. I then turned up the power a little bit up and that looked better, but I'm wondering what the right way is.. any light on the subject?

Sweet ride. I love 720's. Me and my buddy were making good progress on his but he sold the thing before we finished it.

if your welds are bubbly (porosity) there are a few things to check for. make sure your getting gas out the nozzle, the metal is clean of paint/primer, there isn't too much wind blowing. as far as the heat if your using a machine that has preset wirespeed and heat that is probably the main problem. you need to drop the heat and speed and make small welds. if your welding a heavier wall tubing (1/8") to sheetmetal you should start on the tubing and let the weld puddle up, then work it over until it fuses to the sheetmetal. doing short welds will help as well.
