I have a project here that I will just not have time to complete. The truck is a 1983 toyota sr5 2wd. It is fully loaded with all guages and sunroof. Cab is in decent shape typical rot around driver passenger body mounts 3" body lift for clearance issues with this motor. Has clean Papers and regi. Interior is in awesome shape reupholstered seat full cd stereo with amp and 6.5"sub's in door including mid and tweets. Full set of auto meter gauges. The engine is out of an 85 supra it is a 2.8L straight six. Same with the tranny it is a close ratio supra g-58, shifter bushing are worn out but trans seems tight. All of the wiring is complete and engine runs no problems. There is a ton of custom work done on this thing because of interference issues everywhere when trying to get the moter in. Custom built oil-pan to clear steering, front cross member and lower rad hose. Custom oil pickup tube to match pan. etc.etc.etc. Upgraded fuel system with electric in tank holley fuel pump, 2.5" exhaust and flowmaster muffler,Rear diff is welded Now the bad: Back Half of Frame is Bad My original plan was to swap everything into my other 2wd. Then I though about fixing the frame and turning it into a super cheap drag truck to run at western. Then I realized I have no time for either. It has a long bed box that is easily savable, but is just resting on it so I could get to the frame. So basically this is everything to put a 5mge in your wheeler. I mean hell you could take a scabby firstgen and put this moter and cab on it and it would be mint. Or fix the frame and rally it. Total Sleeper.......... This thing hauled ass but the old toyota frame could not handle the power. Asking 800$cdn. truck is located in Victoria BC CANADA. Can possibly arrange delivery if local Call 250-893-0387 PICS. Engine: Oil Pan: Interior: Truck: **No longer has those wheels or front bumper.** Rolling on stock rims and tires also have spare fenders for it.
Good luck, dude. Selling a Toyota is the toughest thing for the current owners to do. I NEVER plan to sell mine, even though I have recieved bare minimum 70 offers a day and when my grandfather had it, he had a guy stalking him so he could buy it! A Supra swap would be a great thing to advertise it with, if no one on here responds (doubtful, probably launch on the thing), try Auto Trader and make sure you include the Supra swap info (try to avoid the problematic issues). Looks like a hot ride, sad you have to sell it. I've got too crappy of a job to rescue any of the hot Yota's I've seen around, but someone will buy it bro. Nice AUTOBOTS sticker by the way, want one for my Sand Shark outside.
I would be interested ... does it run ? drivable ? i'm in the Okanagan .. can it be delivered ? I will buy it !
It does run Quite well. will need a valve adjustment but was daily driven untill the driver side rear spring hanger removed it self from the frame. I can only deliver locally meaning southern vancouver island. I can take more pictures if you need and a video of it running if necessary. Just let me know what you need.
