I have spun the bearings in my truck after "rebuilding" the engine, and rather than trying to take parts out of another, altogether questionable engine, I just want one that I know runs well. if you're located in central WA and you have an R-series motor kicking around... let me know! just be aware that i am a highschool student and don't have $4000 kicking around for a professionally-rebuilt long block... Are there any Used Japanese Engine importers up north? There are a whole bunch here in SoCal and a used imported engine goes for (IIRC) about $500. There are also places that have rebuilt motors that cost about $1200 (+ your core) installed.
Nothing I've been able to find, unfortunately. Plenty of people rebuilding them for full price but I can't afford that. I got screwed over last time by a guy who sold me a "honeyed" engine.
