Been a while, truck broke down today. Thought the starter was bad (which it is) but it turns out something inside shorted and everytime I turned the key it was sending a huge arc. I could be wrong and please do tell if I am but I think the arcs blew a chunk of metal off the starter where the main power lead connects. Pics below.
Hope to never remove a starter again. That sucked!

Starters are never fun especially on a 22re vs 22r. The fawktarded placement of the fuel filter makes it a biotch. Happy birthday anyway, enjoy installing the starter, I'll be out at the auto x course today destroying tires.

Guy I spoke to at work said it would be super simple... Only two bolts. While he was correct about the two bolts I call bs on the super simple. When you have to connect two socket extenders together with a swivel on the end to reach a bolt you can't see. Not simple lol. Toyota needs to fire their engineers. Watched a YouTube video on a 93. Dude must have had tiny arms cause he could reach through the wheel well to the bolts. I can't even fit my damn forearm through.

Anyway, have fun at auto cross! Hoping to make it to the test and tune this year!

Without the efi fuel filter in the way it's pretty easy to get at from the bottom. A 6" extension and a shallow socket will clear the starter to get the top nut and the bottom is easy to get.

I'm in tri cities. I'll actually be sorta local to you tomorrow picking up seed potatoes outside of airway heights.

What is this and why is it leaking?

Cut my rear bump stops down and gained some suspension. Had to do some sanding under the fenders to prevent rubbing.

Next purchase is air shocks for the rear. I need to haul my bike from Spokane to McCall and there's no way in hell that'll happen without new shocks.

Looks like your steering box. Do you have power steering or manual?

I dont know if that seal is available to replace or not. You might be looking at a new or good used box.

Should be Toyota #90311-34001 which crosses over to SKF 13423 or whatever your local parts store has on the shelf.
