Hey guys first time on a forum for this truck. I found my truck last year at the beginning of July about 50 miles from where I live. about a week later I found the owner and picked it up for 250$ when I got it, it had a Buick 231 sitting in the engine bay. luckily they didn't modify the frame so I was able to pull a donor 20R from my 1976 Celica and have it rebuilt to put in. I've had it running pretty good since then and have driven from Clovis to Abq countless times and back and forth to GA 5 times. I really love the truck but lately I've been thinking of getting rid of it. After browsing this forum I think I've changed my mind.
I always think about selling my truck, lol. It's my daily/work in progress, with less "progress" than i'd like, haha. Then i'm like "Well, i do have a lifetime alignment on my truck...I just put new tires on it...The motor only has 30k miles...I'll never get what i want for it...etc.". I plan on getting a little corolla or something someday (good gas mileage, a/c, etc) and putting the truck down for all the love it deserves Just keep coming back to toyotaminis.com everyday to "renew your love" so to speak, lol.
haha I just hate mine sometimes because it rides like absolute sh*t and there's a vibration from the drive shaft/pinion angle I think. I had planned on getting a TE70 to replace it but I decided to hold onto it because its almost done. I'm also in the middle of a 1UZ/W58 swap for my Cressida to alleviate the need to drive the truck all the time so I figured when that was done that I'd feel a little bit better. Then there's the I'll never get what I want for it thing you mentioned haha. I just wasn't sure for a little bit it doesn't make sense to have all the cars I have and keep the truck (LS400, Cressida, 4 Runner, 83 Pickup, 76 Pickup). Figured I'll at least finish what I started.
Damn! That's quite a collection! Funny u mention the te70...I just got a text last night from a guy. I left a note on his '81 corolla 3 months ago Might be putting my truck down sooner than I thought!
