Can you put sail panel mirrors on a door that originally doesn't have 'em? It looks like you can just drill some holes on the outside. The mounting holes are already there on the inside.
I just awnsered my own question. It can be done. I'll put pics up in my build thread this weekend when I get the passenger mirror. The warehouse only had the driver side, the passenger was at another warehouse.
Bolts right up...there should be a panel on the inside/outside of the door-(front corner where the mirror mounts) that comes off & most of the time the mounting holes are already there!!
I went from the door mounted black mirror to a sail panel mounted chrome mirror. The holes are there on the inside but not the outside. So I used my unibit and drilled a pilot hole from the inside, then drilled the rest of it from the outside. I'll take pics of the process when I get the other mirror.
Cool...Ive got the same style as you too. Ive got 4-runner mirrors that Im planning to install later cause they are power!! Not the best pic, but you can see what style mirrors Im using.
Yup...those be the ones. Are yours plastic? Cause I think I got some cheap ones. Oh well, they'll work for now.
