Well I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Mike. I never got around to it before-hand. Now that I'm a little more active and am currently working on my 91 single cab Toyota, I'd like to give you a little insight into my background. I learned to drive on a minitruck. I bought my first "MiniTruckin'" magazine when I was about 14 and had been hooked ever since. My father owned a bodyshop as I was growing up and he told me that if I could fix up this totaled 1986.5 Nissan Hardbody I could have it. I spent all summer on it and by the time I was able to drive (15) I had a minitruck. I'm the one in the green sweater. Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pictures. I've always been a bit of an introvert. I did a bit of custom stuff to that over the years. You can probably see that the tailgate handle had been relocated inside. The hood vents were shaved among other things. Eventually I wound up putting a Toyota front bumper on it (a trend at the time). I even put fog-lights into the chromed lower valance part. Here is a pic before the chrome: At that time I was probably the youngest person in my area (Southern NM) to be winning trophys for the custom categories. Well it all ended when I was 19 because I rolled my truck on some black ice and never got it back up to 100% again. Eventually I sold it and raised a daughter (who is going to college this year). I've finally got some time, a tiny bit of extra cash on my hands and a 1991 Toyota. I don't think I'll drop it. I kind of like the higher stance. But I do have a lot of ideas for it. I just might make a build thread soon. Wish me luck. M
That was a pretty nice HB. I had one too, my 2nd mini. The yota looks really good hope you catch the bug and mod it heavily haha
Thanks guys! Ha ha, yeah I've always had the bug but it's just been dormant under a thick layer of life and responsibilities.
