So I have the 1992 toyota pickup 2wd has a 3.0 efi motor I want it loud
I have a flow master 40 series muffler on it now what should I put on it to make it louder like I want is as loud as possible but still sound good an be legal

 

That would depend on where you are at (Whats considered "legal" in your area) and what your definition of "sound good" is. I would personally recommend going to an auto-parts store or as a last resort, to a muffler place and buying an exhaust flange (2 to 3 bolt will work) and welding it onto your tailpipe before where the stock muffler goes. That way, if you want to test a muffler, all you have to do is weld the other half of the flange onto it and bolt it right up. Even without that though, to start, you can just go buy a straight pipe to replace the muffler and see how you like it. Thats about as loud as you will be able to get it while still having your stock exhaust routing intact. After that you can experiment with different lengths of glass-pack mufflers and others. If you want maximum obnoxious noise, you can always just disconnect the exhaust pipe at the header manifold and see if you like how it sounds. It may not run the best without the sensor after the cat though.

Record the clips and play them back through the stereo with the windows closed. You get an exhaust thats as loud as you want and everyone else gets quiet surroundings.

 

Can always go with a glass pack, thrush makes one for about 30$ at most parts stores and cherry bomb makes one for about the same price. As the fiberglass breaks down it will get louder too.

 

I would just pick up an electric cutout and weld it in before the muffler so you can switch between nice and quite and loud and obnoxious. Loud exhaust gets really old on long trips.

for maximum hearing damage, run a stack and cut it off right behind your head. An alternative to cutting the bed would be side exit under the drivers door.

Mine has a thrush turbo muffler and exits right in front of the leaf (just behind the drivers door). Sounds OK under hard acceleration or engine braking but drones and blah otherwise.
