More spark energy. Basically, without the cap and rotor, the spark has half the distance to jump. That allows the spark plug gap to be opened up, making for a more efficient burn.

I'm not completely happy with how it turned out, but I can't imagine a better way to mount the coil and route the wires. I may play with the way the wires head to the loom, but that'll be another day.

I'm running on 15 pounds of boost right now.

Not sure. Haven't really thought about it. I want to work on a few tuning things over the next week or so, then I'll probably start asking about the schedule. I have a friend who has a Mustang Dyno, so it won't cost me anything to get it on for a few hours.

The numbers haven't really been that important to me. Since I don't race or drift, my goal was for it to be fun. I can't guess at what kind of numbers it's making either. It's not anywhere near as fast as my buddy's 400 hp 240sx, but it's waaaay faster than it used to be. I'd guess maybe I doubled my original numbers.

According to the Dynoliscious App for my iPhone it made 69 hp to the wheels NA. Keep in mind that I guessed at the weight of the truck, so while that number probably isn't accurate, for consistency I'll run it again under boost a few times and get a rough number for the difference in power.

I'll try to do that this morning on the way to work.

As always Lit, great work! Do you think this would work for non-turbo applications as well?

I just wana see the power ramp up so far I ditch the turbo idea but I still have the parts to do it.

Yep, on our engines, there is about 3 degrees or so of slop in the factory ignition setup. By simply switching to a standalone and a 36 minus 1 crank trigger wheel, you'll tighten that up to nothing. The wasted spark or coil on plug setup will garner close to twice the spark energy at the plug. That itself is said to be good for 3-5 hp on an NA setup. Not to mention more stable idle, and perky throttle response.

Megasquirt standalone ECU is meant to tune anything.

nice to see actual remarks about it from someone on a regular basis. 22RTE forums are a bit quiet.

Yeah, I stopped posting in there. It takes a week or more to get anyone to even read a new thread, much less answer the question.

Those guys are nice, but busy like myself.

It has it limits such as batch fire injection and waste spark and smaller fuel and ignition table

but very user friendly and a better tuner studio program and way better then SDS that lc engineering offers

Oh, Nashman. How you live in yesterday.

MS can now sequentially fire injection. And it's been able to sequentially control spark for a very long time.

How big are the Haltech fuel, spark, VE, and AFR tables?

Information like this makes me want to put my truck on MS just to have the increased efficiency and improved characteristics, let alone the power gains. Think a 20/22 hybrid would have a lot of potential?

Just wanted to post up my compressor map. I guessed on the volumetric efficiency, went kinda low on those numbers. This is where it maps out at 250 hp.
