Bummer, was gonna pickup a welder tomorrow but everyone is closed on weekends. I am gonna pickup a Miller 211 on Monday and then the practicing may commence!

Gotta find the best places around with good useable scraps. First project will be to design and fab a decent welding cart. Maybe I'll pickup an air compressor now too.

Keep an eye on the free column on Craigslist. Lots of random crap pops up that you could cut up and weld together for practice. Truck is coming along nicely. I always end up with longbeds too. Finally got an 88 shorty for a project truck. If ya need spare parts hit me up. I have just about everything.

    Good idea on the scrap.

I need to hurry up and get started as my mind is wandering to a bagged NBS or NNBS sierra/silverado.

Have an appointment to have 220 outlet installed this afternoon, got approval from management company but have to have it pro-installed which was expected.

Who is doing it? We just had a German gentleman do a 220 outlet at my father in law house for about $200. Very clean job too.

Guy named Nick did it for 250$, turned out good and was pretty quick. Now I just have to survive till monday without pulling out my hair waiting to get pickup the welder. I've been browsing craigslist for a compressor, gotta figure out what I want their as well. I am super tempted but then I have to buy all the nice tools that a compressor is good for and where does it end!

I'll focus on the welder and all the gear and fab tools that go with it before I go after air power for now.

Most tools you will need can be had in electric. Like grinders and drills. Cheaper than air tools in the short run. Long run its nice to have both.

I just want an Impact Wrench, Air Hammer, Air Reciprocating Saw, Cut-Off Tool, Angle Die Grinder and an Air Ratchet.:cool::waytogo::lol:

I already have most of the electric tools I need, need to get a 7" angle grinder and maybe a porta-bandsaw and corded drill.

    Have a saws-all, 4" angle-grinder, cordless 20v drill, 3/8 electric snap-on impact and a few others.

    Looks good.

I know your new to this welding stuff but PLEASE secure that bottle from falling over and knocking the top off. It's pretty Dangerous when that happens..

Don't believe me? Click link: MythBusters: Air Cylinder Rocket - YouTube

As for the welding it's self. Just practice. Start off by reading the chart inside the welder for settings on different gauges of steel. Then experiment with different techniques. Like running C's, circles, and push pulls.
