What angles are your notches? I know everyone's are different, I figured roughly 25.5 deg??

Also what height off top of frame? To bottom of the notch?

The top flat part of my notch is the same angle as the frame angle. With an angle finder, I measured the lower part of my frame which also matches the angle of my bed floor but for the most part that is because I used square or rectangular tubing for better flow. It's really up to you and how you build your notch but I would say most people try to do them as level as they can.

Ill be throwin mine in level. It's a 3 piece 2x2" .250 wall notch I built. The angle is a guess but about the same as everybody else's by the eye. I would be putting the top section parallel to my bed floor, and the center even with the axle center at ride height. Mine is also about 5-6" long on the top part inside the angles if that helps.

I'm doing 4x2x3/16 tube, I'm guessing 14" from bottom of frame to bottom of notch Gould be sufficient. I was doing a lot of math last night I'll probably have to see how it's going to work out once the bed is off... Hoping this weekend will be when I can get a better look...

Its all on how much you need. Depends on wheel size and all that. I did a triangle notch so I cant help.

Exactly. Bottom of the notch is dictated by tire diameter. Bigger circle needs the notch higher up.

I don't really pay attention to the angle of the notch. I'm just happy to be putting another notch in the bedpost. I'm up to 3! And I'm hopeful that one of the future notches won't be from a date that has to be inflated.

Pretty sure I have an 8" notch, 14" sounds excessive....?

Again, not sure of angles and the top is level. 25 degrees sounds about right.

For some reason I have 14" in my head it could be what I have left to lay out all the way. I think 22.5 deg is what it should be to make a 45 at the top angels. An. 8" notch would be 12" from bottom to bottom? Maybe that's why I was thinking. 14"???

It's been 5 or 6 years since I did mine. You might be right.

Are you planning on any reinforcement plates across those welds?

I am pretty sure that when you buy a notch kit 8" is how far from where it was to where it will be. I guess I am not understanding your 8"=12"

Got em welded up today and mostly grinded out, not planning gussets but I have been playing with the idea. Weld penetration seems to be pretty good. Jason's notch is same concept as mine. Had the idea from my brother (structural engineer) and never seen it done that way until I read Jason's thread.
I'm going to unbox the frame and weld the notch into the inside the. Rebid the frame so an 8" notch would need to be 12" to get to the bottom of the frame.
