Well today I got my passenger side dash installed! I had to cut the crap out of the glove box to clear the blower motor! Tomorrow I got to run the wire for the tack and install the drivers side dash!
yea, toyota horns are self grounding so they only need one wire hookup (spade connector) but the gm horns in the newer cars have a (+) and a (-) terminal so i just had to make a clean ground where the horns bolted in and they were good to go. ill post up some pictures where i mounted them... they are fairly loud!
Truck looks good. But can you downside the pics next time? They're massive. Took like five mins for the page to load. That never happens lol
It was just out for the body drop! I kept heat and air and with the 18 inch tubs it moved the blower back about an inch!
Put Monroe max airs on the back and mono leafed it for now sits perfect now its time for the front it rides so smooth
Ordered up a few bits I need for the 90. LCE shipped out the adapter for my weber to use a standard 5 1/8" air cleaner, that will go perfect with the remote air filter housing I've had for years so I can use a cone filter. They have my urethane bushings for the A arms on back order, they'll ship next friday. Summit shipped the battery hold down, K&N filter to go along with the aforementioned filter housing and a couple mandrel bends, straight pieces and a muffler. The muffler and a bit of the exhaust is for the wifes 4runner and was the excuse I needed to get all the parts for my truck.
Tonight I re-did my HID wiring to look a lot better and adjusted some cables so i dont have 15 things connected to the battery posts. Now I have one ground cable and 3 on the positive. My ground goes from battery to motor, then motor to body. Before: After: I also ran the wiring for my GM 3 wire alternator swap, which was really easy to do! Hopefully I used the right wire for the charge light! I used big 6 gauge wire for the main power, and used a lot of solder to fill the connector! I need a piece of big shrink tubing for it and then ill be done with it. I ran into a small problem though, the mount needs to be modified to work. The old one is on the right, new on the left. I will need to cut off the corner to make it work with the motor mount, which has a built in spacer where this bracket should be... Atleast i only have to cut off the corner Tomorrow I shall get out the cut off wheel!
Thanks! I think it would look even better with a big wire loom over it all or wrapped in tape, but for now it's just fine I finished swapping alts today, it took a little more then just cutting the mount as it was thicker then the stock one, but still nothing a grinder couldn't fix. And I used the wrong wire for the chg light, it ended up being the white/yellow. Theother one let it keep running after the key was turned off, so I killed it by pulling the coil wire It was all worth it though and now I'm at a constant 14.4-14.7 volts!
