Ran into some problems today, I started to install the lowering blocks and the blocks wouldn't sit right on the leaf springs. The nipple on the leaf springs wouldnt fit into the blocks. I thought all blocks were pretty much universal. I bought these from advance auto and just returned it. Anyone can recommend a set of blocks for me?
I'm currently running autozone blocks. They are certainly not the best, but work. There is a metal pad with plastic liner the slips over the spring and under the axle - you need to put the block under that. And for safe quality blocks - http://stores.streetacos.com/-strse-BLOCKS/Categories.bok Beefed makes the safest blocks you can get.
nice man! dont forget to trim your plastic inner liners to clear the tires. what i did is left the front and rear sections in, then cut the tops off after the lower body line that runs across the truck and you cant tell they are cut out unless you duck under and look.
Had some free time this morning and decided to finally put my 10' sub in from my old taco. The box is a little big but it works for now. I also installed my taco speaker grills that twizted1 was asking about. Here are the pics for you bro. Here you see the indentations for holes but there not cut out I used my fishing knife and there you have it Now the greys don't exactly match but there a lot of light coming into the truck (doors open, windows down) when the doors are closed you can't tell and plus it looks way cleaner that having speakers mounted on to the covers. I have a set of Polk audio components what will be going in here The sub
Need to look for something like those or just find myself a sheet of ABS plastic so I can make some cut outs. I need to make an emplacement so I can mount my sub in that cubby under the seats.
Yup I will get some spray paint... An mtx amp and sub I had laying around. I forget the brand no problem bro... Hope it helps I would love to get an eclosure that fits in there as well
Had some time tonight and decided to finally install my 4runner Map light. For everyone who has an extra cab you can access your power and ground wires through your drivers A pillar panel. There a group of wires, I used a razor to cut through the tape and to strip the wires. The wires to splice into are the black and black with white stripe. My only recommendation is to use a small gauge wire so it doesn't show through the headliner or get in the way when you install back your sun visor. Here some pics. Btw I do plan on getting a set LEDs and taking care of the gap. I made sure to cut the pig tails off the 4runner. Makes things cleaner and simpler
Was playing around on CL and came across a set of wheels for a decent price. Out of curiosty i called to get more info. Some of you guys call them alcoas or mickey thompson classics. The specs where 15x8 with a 3.75 BS or -19. I guess the guy really wanted them gone and gave me a deal i couldnt pass up. I picked them up tonight and plan on running a set of 195/50/15 or 185/55/15. Would appreciate some input on tire sizing. I dont plan on tucking or doing fender mods. Just having the fender sit over the tire with a little poke is fine. They def need some tlc but it will be worth it.
Nice rims....I'm always on the lookout for these rims but never can find them if I do their 15x10 stuff like that....good set u have I'm running 195/50r15 on my western wheels....
Im sure you will come across a set. Thanks bro if i decide to sell ill let you know. I currently have 3 sets of wheels and need to sell atleast 1. I think i will go with the 195/50/15. Small stretch would be nice. Your wheels look great!
Quick update Been really busy with a lot of things and plus work and the holidays coming up like everyone else. But I managed to make some time to restore these wheels to beauty. I spent about 5-6 hrs total which consisted of wet sanding, buffing with compound and lastly a mothers polish. They look pretty decent for now still plan to do more polishing in the future. Should be getting some tires put on tomorrow. I've decided to run 195/50/15.
