I've used plasti in a can to black out my t tops ..got to looking on there web page and found the tan color kinda like it and there new metalizer that goes over whatever color you pic looks pretty dope
my truck isn't completely plastidipped. just my front bumper is plastidipped red and my grille is plastidipped black.
It's just a spray on plastic/rubber paint that can peel off with no side effects ...the heavier the coat the easier it will peel off .. when needed pretty cool stuff all kind of uses Check out plasti dip vids on YouTube there's guys doing whole cars and what not
Armour All is doing the platidip thin now. Sprays out of a can easy enough and dries smooth, with no runs. I picked up a case from the guy at Goodguys this year and wnt from red to black. http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/exterior-body-68/changed-into-tux-17103/
Got a can of black from lowes and sprayed the bottom half of my dash. also sprayed some stripes on my hood and evil eyes on my headlights. i peeled off the eyes. didnt care for em too much. just a little rubbing will peel it off
How well does Plastidip protect against rock chips? A few years ago, it was the "cool" thing to cover the front end of your car with masking tape (blue) when driving cross country to protect it from bugs and rocks. Don't see it as often (or even at all) now. I wonder when/if someone will try it with Plastidip...
I think it'd work. I mean, I wouldn't tell someone it would hold up to a sandblaster or flying bricks but for a round trip road trip, I would say Yeah. Would be a lot of work for a temporary mask though. I thought 3M had a clear bra spray?
Stuffs pretty tuff it's the multiple coats that add the protection and ease of removal . Don't tailgate a dump truck carrying sand over speed bumps .. At 80mph should be fine
here is my front grill/ corner lights plastidipped black... its nice too because it doesnt chip off of chrome like regular spray paint always seems to do
Front bumper, valance, grille, corners, wheels, window visors, windshield wipers, antenna, door handles, are plastidipped.
