    So I had a realization today. This amazing site has provided me with nearly all the parts to build my truck. I will run down the list in a minute, but think about that. Some of the newer members, and old ones alike, should really dig that. Sites like this are what having a cool truck is all about. The community and friendship, not just the shared info. So here goes the list, and another big thanks to all the people who helped provide parts.

    * 1981 22R engine block, complete, dismantled from CurtisZ
    * 20R cylinder head with porting and stage 2 cam from 77yoter
    * W52 trans from celica with short shifter project from 77yoter
    * Early 20R metal TEQ oil capped valve cover from Draggeddaily
    * Grille from a member I forgot the name of lol
    * Various dash/interior parts from Dave, forgot his screen name. baggedon20s I think.
    * 17" caddy CTS rims from 671miagi
    * Slider back window from CurtisZ
    * Various engine brackets and clutch brackets from SnoNuff
    There are other parts I'm probably forgetting. The rest of the little custom stuff I have is from the junkyard or abandoned cars in fields. That's where the VW mirror came from :lol

    But my point is we should keep the community side of this site alive. More cruises and meets. More ad section usage. I'm here more than Facebook and my email combined. Just thought I should share all that. :D

    I agree with everything your sayin, especially the part about sourcing parts from others on here. Just the short time Ive had my '77 ive been able to get the stuff the lower my truck from hilux dully, I built a motor for 79frankenyota that found me through here, and I traded Rink45 my old wheels for a perfect dash pad, a better vinyl floor cover, a 20r head and a TEQ sticker..

    Just my input/experience..

    Haha makes more sense with you guys being at least in the same state. An awesome one I might add. I got lots of family down that way. Haven't been in years. How's the mini scene?

    not happening at all right now. Texas is all about SPEED!!!

    with events like "texas mile", "tx2k13", etc.... you have to have serious horespower to play. i remember competing back then when 650+HP was enough to put you in top 5. nowadays, you have 2,200HP super exotics taking the scene. now its just a bunch of old guys throwing money around taking away from the working guys who truly love cars. not just some guy who went out and bought a fast car. i build my cars, not buy them.

    sorry, /rant :eek:
