Hi, i am currently working on a 1985 22ret that I picked up in late April. [/IMG] [/IMG] I got it from a estate sell. the truck is a one owner with 75k on it. It's all original. I noticed the interior was leaking and took the carpet out to find a couple leaks on the passenger side floor pan. It looks to me like the evaporator core had been replaced. The drain for the E core that goes thru the fire wall did not get the OEM rubber grommet put back in place. I was lucky to have a spare one. The the other leak was above the ecm by the antenna hole there is a pinch weld there and it looks like the truck might have been in slow speed accident. The seam sealer had cracked and was letting a trickle of water down in the passenger corner. I cut the bad pieces out and am in the process of making a templates to replace it with some good metal.
thanks guys this is just a project truck for me to tinker with. Since I brought it home I haven't put 10 miles on it yet. check out this new window gasket http://www.4x4world.com.au/shopping/...roduct_id=5996
I have been working on the truck in my spare time. There was two little rust holes in either side of the floor board, that I patched up. The cause of the problem on the drivers side was a wire loom for the automatic transmission. It was acting like a funnel and when it rained it would run off the hood and right into the wire loom that was directly under the gap between the hood and fender. the passenger side was a crack in the seam sealer on the pinch weld right by the antenna hole in the fire wall. There was some rust there that I cut out and replaced with good metal
painted the extra cab window plastic black, and recovered the back wall with black headliner. went to Napa and bought some black clips to match.
